This intervention by the artist Marie Larroque-Daran is based on a singular anecdote from the Natural History Museum of Nice: in 1881, a species of mushroom was located on Mont Daour (Mont d'Or) by one of the collaborators of the Nice naturalist Jean-Baptiste Barla. However, this place does not exist! It is a fictitious toponym. This imaginary territory was born and still lives within the Museum.
This treasure trove of all possibilities becomes the link between the specimens presented to the public in the permanent exhibition gallery and the collections kept in the reserves. The various works, created specifically for this exhibition, create an open path to the mythical territory of Mount Daour.
